Optimized Design of Structure of High-Bending-Rigidity Circular Tube

Circular tubes are widely used in daily life and manufacture under bending load. The structural parameters of a circular tube, such as its wall thickness, number shapes ribs, supporting flanges, closely related to the tube’s rigidity. In this study, tube with eight ribs flange was optimized, order obtain lowest weight, through comprehensive optimization. We obtained optimal influence on weight. different numbers were optimized. had same inner diameter, load, length ribs. conducted an experiment verify optimization simulation. Different sizes subsequently optimized four trapezoidal reduced weight by more than 73% while maintaining deformation. reached stable value after added. When two, largest. analysis results consistent numerical results. A new AWATR (appropriate width thickness can improve rigidity tubes) formula proposed, which effectively tubes. compared. lightest easy manufacture.
